SMS Messaging Consent
This page describes every text message Kenshiki sends, how people consent to receive them, and how to stop them at any time.

Who is sending. Text messages described on this page are sent by Kenshiki, Inc., based in Tacoma, Washington, United States. Kenshiki Labs is a trading name of Kenshiki, Inc. Messages are sent on behalf of users of the Kenshiki Pulse iOS app.
Pulse check-in texts. A Pulse user can choose a small circle of people, up to ten, and ask Pulse to text them a check-in link when the user’s morning starts. Each text contains a link to a live, read-only check-in page created by that user. If the user turns on the optional quiet-morning nudge, their people may instead receive a single text asking them to check in on the user when the user’s phone has not signaled by the time they chose.
Verification codes. If a Pulse user turns on optional phone-number protection, we text a one-time verification code to the user’s own number when they request it in the app. These messages go only to the person who asked for them, at the moment they ask.
Message frequency. Message frequency varies. Check-in recipients typically receive at most one or two messages per day from a given schedule. Verification codes are sent one at a time, only on request. These are person-to-person notification messages; Kenshiki does not send marketing or promotional text messages.
Message and data rates may apply. Carriers may charge for messages received. Kenshiki does not charge recipients to receive texts.
How consent works
Check-in recipients. Recipients are added one at a time, by name and phone number, by a Pulse user who knows them. Before saving a schedule, the user confirms in the app that these are people who agreed to hear from them. The first message a recipient receives identifies Kenshiki Pulse and the person who set up the check-in, and every recipient can stop the messages at any time by replying STOP.
Verification codes. Consent is the request itself: codes are sent only to the number the user entered, only when the user taps to request one inside the app.
Opt in on this page. Recipients can also opt in themselves, directly, using the form at the bottom of this page. We keep a timestamped record of every web opt-in.
Removing someone. The Pulse user who created a schedule can remove any recipient, or delete the whole schedule, at any time in the app. Deleting a schedule, or turning the nudge off, also deletes the recipient phone numbers Kenshiki held for it.
What we store. Recipient phone numbers stay on the user’s iPhone until the moment a text is sent. Kenshiki holds recipient numbers on its servers only when the quiet-morning nudge is on, because that text must be sent even when the user’s phone is off. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
How to stop messages
Opt out. Reply STOP to any message from Kenshiki to stop receiving texts from that number. You will receive one final message confirming you are opted out, and nothing further. You can also opt out using the form at the bottom of this page, ask the Pulse user who added you to remove you, or contact us directly and we will remove your number.
Help. Reply HELP to any message for assistance, email hello@kenshikilabs.com, or call (253) 322-3224.
No third-party sharing. Mobile phone numbers and text-messaging opt-in data are never sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Numbers are used only to deliver the messages described on this page, through the messaging providers that transmit them on our behalf.
Related policies. See our Privacy Policy and Terms. Questions about this page: hello@kenshikilabs.com.
